Last Saturday, March 23, Hunter College High School in Manhattan hosted their annual Prison Bowl tournament, written entirely by Hunter College High School students. The set was very challenging and fun, so congratulations to the Hunter team for writing an entire set. Congratulations to High Tech A of NJ for winning the tournament and to all teams who competed.
Ithaca A placed highest of all New York teams, finishing 4th place overall with 20.94 PPB. Ithaca A was led in scoring by Julian Perry, who went 19-30-6 across 11 games with 50.45 PPG. Teammates Isaiah Gutman (7-28-3 with 33.64 PPG), Vaynu Kadiyali (9-14-7 with 21.82 PPG), and Aidan Uckun (8-23-8 with 28.18 PPG) greatly contributed to Ithaca's strong 9-2 performance with wins over West Egg A, Mather, and East Brunswick.
West Egg A (Great Neck South A) finished in 5th overall with an 8-3 record and 19.20 PPB. Led in scoring by captain Noah Sheidlower (10-50-15 with 52.27 PPG) and with great performances by teammates Andersen Gu (3-27-12 with 23.18 PPG) and Daniel Lu (5-17-4 with 23.68 PPG), West Egg A had great wins over Darien, a fusion team with Hempfield and Teterboro, and Island Trees.
Kellenberg A also finished in the Championship bracket with a 6-5 record and 17.63 PPB. Captained by Aidan York (8-32-5 with 37.73 PPG), Kellenberg went 4-1 in prelims with a 55 point loss to Millburn, the tournament's runner-up. Teammates Natalie Jean-Michel (2-14-2 with 14.55 PPG), Kate Long (1-20-10 with 15.00 PPG), and Tyler Martinus (6-14-7 with 17.73 PPG) all contributed to the team's strong wins over Clarke, Bronx Science A, and High Tech B.
